Food Industry Exhibition

Photo release

The 16th Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition opened at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex. What makes it one of the most significant events in the food industry in the region is that the exhibition attracts the attention of industry specialists and consolidates the efforts of catering professionals to further develop this branch of economy in the whole region.

Opening the 16th WorldFood Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition brought together officials, journalists and Azerbaijani and foreign experts/entrepreneurs in the food industry.

Welcoming exhibition participants at the opening, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mr. Hulusi Kilic said WorldFood Azerbaijan demonstrates the dynamic economic development of Azerbaijan and the region as a whole. In an effort to develop the food industry, we must consider one of the most important factors - food product safety, which can be promoted international exhibitions.

Turkish companies participating in this event prove that the country attaches great importance to its traditional partnership with Azerbaijan, and the exhibition clearly reflects the development of economic relations between our countries.

In his speech, Azerbaijani National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers - ASK) Secretary General Magomedali Efendiyev stressed the exhibition's importance as a tool for implementing projects on environmentally clean foodstuffs and safe quality products. The speaker expressed confidence that holding the exhibition will strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and its partners, as well as display local entrepreneurs at a new level of international cooperation.

Thanking permanent partners and sponsors, Iteca Caspian LLC Executive Director Farid Mammadov noted that the exhibition took place regardless of the global economic crisis. Moreover, the organisers managed to achieve the same-level indicators as last year's food exhibition in Azerbaijan, which testifies to the stability and prospects of further development.

The current exhibition - the latest in the massive list of all international events for over 17 years in the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex. Director of the exhibition complex Rafiq Beibutov also thanked the management and all staff of Iteca Caspian LLC for fruitful cooperation and wished the whole team success in the new exhibition complex BakuExpo, which has improved conditions for conducting exhibitions.

This year, WorldFood Azerbaijan involves 85 companies from 18 countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Latvia, Pakistan, Russia, the United States, Turkey and Ukraine. The exhibition features leading brands, such as Badamli, Beta, Jalə, John Deere, PalSud among others.

It is encouraging that more and more Azerbaijani companies participate in the event annually. This year, local manufacturers accounted for roughly 60 percent of the participants. WorldFood Azerbaijan participants were well prepared for the exhibition. Each and every stand had lively discussions and products were tasted. AltunTop (Turkey) demonstrated bread-slicing machines and bakery equipment, and Behre representatives showed visitors baked "Austrian" donuts, which no one else bakes in Azerbaijan. Of particular interest was an automated cracker and bread production machine presented by Deli Sazan Khavarmianeh Co Ltd (Iran). No one could refuse tasting the honey made by local beekeepers. PalSud presented a new type of ice cream at a colourful booth.

Thus, the exhibition proved to be an excellent platform for showcasing new products and a solid foundation for food industry professionals to meet.

The exhibition will run until May 21.
